Thank You!

fire Every day that I wake up and turn on the television to watch the morning News, I find myself thankful that I live where I do and that I have the friends and family that I do.  To add on top of all my wonderful fortune which is not measured by the size of my wallet, or the size of my bank account, I have one of the most successful businesses that I have ever been a part of in my life. It’s not because of the money that I make, but because of the friends that create. You see, every day I make a new friend and I get the opportunity to meet another fantastic family that I will know for the next

several years. I never envisioned that I would be part of a community in my business; I just thought I would be able to do something that I love. Our business, “Queen Yorkies Palace” has brought me and m family an immeasurable amount of joy that I fire1cannot begin to describe even though I am trying.

As many of you know, on March 19, 2009 our business and home, all of our worldly belongings burned to the ground. I cannot begin to explain our initial grief as we watched 100 foot flames swallow our home. This has been a home to us and our baby yorkies for several years now and we were just in the process of improving our home a little to make it even that much nicer.

We have worked extremely hard to build our lives here in Golden, Colorado and to watch it all burn down was surreal at first. I haven’t even mentioned the biggest worry at the time which was our baby yorkies in the basement of this blazing fire. All we could think was that our babies would probably not make it through this fire. We knew that the Fire Department had many concerns (our neighbors homes and the community surrounding our home) to take into consideration before even thinking about rescuing our baby yorkies from that smokey basement. At least that was my first thought, I couldn’t help but tell the firemen that our baby yorkies were in the basement, and that was when I heard them barking.  fire2Contrary to what I thought, the Pleasant View Fire Department reacted right away. They went to work immediately trying to figure out a way that they could save our babies. I cannot begin to tell you the level of amazement I felt as they did everything in their power to save our baby Yorkies. Here was miracle one. Not only did they save our babies, but they were able to save every baby Yorkie and our dogs as well!

Since our home has burned down, I cannot begin to describe the support, the calls, the e-mails and visits we have received from all of our heroes at The Pleasant View Fire Department, the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Office, Neighbors, Friends, Family, Customers (really an extension of our family) and people we have never met before. We have received all different types of support from everyone and I had to take a moment and let everyone know that we are ever so grateful for your support. We fire6never expected this from you and we are absolutely grateful to know everyone.

Thank you so much for supporting us during this change in our lives. Your support has literally changed our lives and made this crisis a much smaller obstacle in the grander picture of our lives. We know more than ever that we have family that extends way past our original expectations and I don’t think anyone will ever know the content we feel.

Respectfully,

Walt Queen
